The sporty performance of the Vespa GTS Super is now available in a 125 too. The Vespa GTS 125 Super inherits the same elegant and dynamic style of the Vespa 300 Super and even boasts an engine with electronic fuel injection.
The glamour of a 125 cc engine, the class of the Vespa GTS and the performance of the Vespa Super are all present in this one uniquely stylish scooter. The new Vespa GTS 125 Super is a combination of elegance, comfort, robustness, and superbly smooth power from an electronically fuel injected engine.
Like its big sister, the 300 Super, the Vespa GTS 125 Super inherits the refined styling and sporty spirit of legendary Vespas from the past, like the GS of 1955, the 180 SS of 1964, the 90 SS of '65, the 200 Rally of 1972, the ET3 of 1976, and the T5 "Pole Position" of 1985.
Styling
The new Vespa GTS 125 Super is full of character in its styling as well as its performance. Having produced an amazing 145 different models, Vespa certainly knows how to make full use of the uniqueness of the Vespa design.
The pressed steel body that has always characterised Vespas appears on the new GTS 125 Super with a horizontal grille on the right side. This clear homage to the elegant Vespas of the past also adds a great sporting touch when viewed from the side. The new two-tone alloy wheels also contribute to the same visual effect.
The racing soul of the new Vespa GTS 125 Super is obvious from a first glance at the front suspension, with its spring finished in racing red.
The front shield with chrome trimmed grille also emphasises the scooter's sporting character. Even the round headlight in keeping with Vespa tradition is given a more aggressive personality thanks to a black trim that creates quite a mean look. The seat is characterised by form and materials typical of sporting Italian tradition. Light grey perimeter trim contrasts with the black upholstery in an explicit reference to past models.
Engine
Vespa made its first 125 cc engine as far back as 1948. This was the unit that powered the Vespas immortalised by the classic film Roman Holiday. For decades after, the public had a mental image of the Vespa as ridden by Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. Today, some 60 years later, a modern 125 cc engine with electronic fuel injection is powering the latest spirited, sporty but safe Vespa. The new 125 cc, liquid cooled, four valve, four stroke power plant makes the new Vespa superbly easy to ride. The agility and sprint of the new GTS 125 Super are truly surprising too.
Even the liquid cooling system is new: the E.C.S (Electric Cooling System) absorbs less energy and helps reduce fuel consumption.
The new engine is also equipped with electronic fuel injection, and offers significantly lower running costs, thanks to reduced fuel consumption and maintenance, with service intervals extended by 65% from 6,000 to 10,000 km.
The new Vespa GTS 125 Super is fast, sporty, spirited, and silky smooth thanks to electronic fuel injection, but also silent running and environment friendly. An oil-bath free wheel system reduces noise on starting while normal operating noise is muffled by new engine casings that also contribute to improved transmission cooling.
